Google (GOOG) added a splash of color to its plain-Jane white search home page Thursday. It has teamed up with noted artists like Dale Chihuly, photographer Yann Arthus-Bertrand and others to offer its artistically challenged users an opportunity to dress up the background of their Google home page, according the company's blog post.
Looking for that Jeff Koons, or Tom Otterness, or perhaps a Polly Apfelbaum kinda look? These are some of the options Google is trotting out for users and will have on display virtually all day today on is search home page. It's part of its new home-page personalization feature it rolled out last week, which as PC Magazine noted, aims to increase its competitive stance against Bing, Microsoft's (MSFT) search engine.
